Famous as the home of We Will Rock You between 2002 and 2014, the Dominion theatre is a Grade II listed building with a varied and colourful history as a cinema, variety hall and music venue before returning to its original function as a theatre in the 1980s. Famous productions at the Dominion include Time which featured a holograph of Laurence Olivier, Grand Hotel, Barnum, Beauty and the Beast and Notre Dame de Paris.

In 2014 the Dominion underwent a multi-million pound renovation reopening on 16th September with a 7 week run of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s masterpiece Evita. In the two years that followed White Christmas (2014) and Michael Flatley’s Lord of The Dance (2015) graced the stage before Elf (2015) starring Ben Forster and Kimberley Walsh broke all previous Box Office records. In 2016 Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds arrived at the Dominion for a 10 week run, followed by Beverley Knight reprising her role as Rachel Marron in a 6 month run of The Bodyguard: The Musical. The Tony Award-winning An American in Paris opened at the Dominion Theatre on 4 March 2017, to a record-setting 28 five-star reviews.

For over 80 years the Dominion has been a mainstay of the West End, whether it be for film, music, variety acts or theatre and whilst the type of entertainment may change, the Dominion always remains a venue ahead of its time.
